Plan Analyst Deck Calculator

There is not an easier way to design or check decks

This demo will show you how you can design and/or check decks fast and easy

You simply:

  1. Select the building code that you are using. Note: Example shows the UBC but you may choose from the CABO, NBC, SBC, UBC or the new 2000 International code.
  2. Indicate if it is attached to the house and if it is, select the shape of the house at the deck.
  3. If corners are cut at an angle, indicate that.
  4. Select stairs if deck has stairs.

  6. If the deck is attached to the house, indicate how it is attached.
  7. Select post connection to foundation.
  8. Select guardrail style.
  9. Select location of the beam.

  11. Enter dimensions. Note: After entering the dimensions, you may click the Redrawbutton to verify shape.

  12. Select the joist size, spacing and beam size.
    Note: You may have Plan Analyst determine the minimum size of joist, beams and/or The maximum spacing of post. Note: List of lumber shown is only a partial list of the grades available. You may enter any soil allowable and/or live load on the deck.

You get a complete drawing of the deck.
Note: Members have been sized for you, the minimum size of the footing has been calculated and the size and number of bolts have been calculated.
You can quickly check options by backing up and adding, a center beams, changing spacing of post, etc.
You can print out this complete deck design on standard letter paper.
